Dieting Myths On Breakfast. True or False?
Aug 22, 2018Not sure if breakfast really matters? Find out the truth about the first meal of the day!
Eating breakfast keeps my heart healthy:
True. This one is huge. Skipping breakfast can increase your susceptibility to heart disease. Just think – you can positively take care of your health by simply choosing to crack a couple of eggs in the morning. Take charge of your health. Don’t just leave it up to the docs.
Skipping breakfast will help me lose weight:
False. Skipping breakfast will just make you hangry. Eat something healthy and delicious in the morning! That way you won’t cave when a perfectly iced, sugar-laden temptation crosses your path (aka doughnuts in the breakroom.)
Side note: While some research suggests you can lose weight by skipping breakfast, this is not ideal. Sure, skipping meals is an obvious way to restrict your calorie intake, but that has never been an overall healthy option and is easily abused.
Breakfast is my metabolism’s best bud:
True. You can easily kick start your metabolism by eating within 30 minutes of waking up. Breakfast is an engine revver that encourages your metabolism to stay active throughout the day. Check out these additional metabolism boosting strategies for even more tips!
Skipping breakfast won’t hurt my body:
False. One study showed those who skipped breakfast were more likely to get sick. Who needs sickness? You don’t. Go eat your breakfast (with a smile.)
Eating breakfast increases my focus:
True. Proper intake of protein and nutrients helps you focus. Come on, give your brain a break, and give it what it wants. Just envision your next breakfast spread as brain yoga.
So, do you want to shed a few pounds, protect your heart, and promote overall body health? I kid you not; all you have to do is open your mouth and eat your breakfast.
Helpful Hint: Eating the right kind of breakfast is also vital. We recommend hearty protein shakes, a couple eggs or even bone broth as easy and fast solutions for breakfast.
