How to Hydrate Your Muscles
Aug 22, 2018There is a reason why water is the most valuable nutrient in the world.
It is crucial for health, growth, and development.
Here are some ways water is important for muscle building and how you can keep hydrated.
Dehydration Causes Muscle Tightness
Muscle tightness is cause by a long period of inactivity. Typically people who work a desk job or are in a seated position all day long develop muscle tightness. Muscle tightness can also be caused by cramps which happens as a result of muscle fatigue, low potassium, low sodium, or dehydration. An easy way to prevent this is by drinking plenty of water in a day.
Water Builds Muscle
Water is needed to transport nutrients to your cells and take waste out of the body. It also helps to form proteins and glycogen. Moving and flexing your muscles requires water. Dehydration will deprive your body of electrolytes and cause your muscles to cramp. Without a proper water and electrolyte balance, muscle strength can also be damaged.
So how do I hydrate my muscles?
