Weird Weight Loss Tips That Totally WorkAug 22, 2018
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Here are some quick weight loss tips that you can easily incorporate in your routine.
They may sound a little weird but they will definitely be effective!
Drink More Wine!
YAY! Finally a study to prove my addiction beneficial and healthy.
The Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston has conducted a study that involved almost 20,000 women. They found that women who drank a glass of wine per day were less likely to gain weight over those who did not drink wine.
They recommended intake is 4 ounces per day.
Going over this intake does lead to other risks so don’t get too thirsty here! (source)
Eat with your non-dominant hand!
Ever notice how automatic it can be to eat popcorn at the movie theater?
With the more dominant hand, it is harder to curb snaking habits since the action seems so automatic to our brains.
In a study conducted in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, it is noted that there was a significant decrease in snaking when the least dominant hand was used to eat. (source)
Paint your walls blue
The least appetizing color to our brain is definitely blue.
Since blue is not a naturally occurring color in nature (blueberries are deep purple), our brains do not register this as being delicious. If you look around, you’ll notice that you do not often see a restaurant with the blue walls either.
Some ideas for this are painting your room blue or dying your food blue to curb your appetite! (source)
Brush your teeth more often!
Brushing your teeth more often will help you cut down on calories.
As long as your tooth paste has sodium lauryl sulfate, your food will taste pretty disgusting all of the time. This chemical is a sudser in tooth paste and suppresses your sweet taste buds.
Ever notice how gross orange juice is in the morning after brushing?
Then you can imagine how this will definitely curb your appetite.
Not only will your teeth sparkle but you’ll be able to crack down on those cravings! (source)
Take your vitamins in the morning!
You already should be taking a daily dose of vitamins everyday anyway!
If you’re not, a good reason to start is due mainly to the ability for vitamins to curb your appetite like a boss!
The researches at the International Journal of Obesity have conducted studies testing this and have seen positive results in weight loss. Since your body is receiving a boost of vitamins and nutrients from your supplements in the morning, you will find that your body will crave less and less food throughout the day.
We would not recommend taking a vitamin as an entire meal replacement but rather as an aid to help cut down on big meals and eat more small ones throughout the day. (source)
Sleep in a cold room!
Your body works hard to keep you warm in the cold air.
A study from the Obesity Review had a study where they placed volunteers in a cold climate and observed that brown adipose tissue had increase the burning of white fat cells in the body.
You can literally burn calories in your sleep if you turn the room temperature down just a little bit.
If you’re not fond of sleeping in a cold you can also take a quick cold shower! (source)
